Review Policy & Standards

Nova Journal of Computer Science and Intelligent Systems (NJCSIS) enforces a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review policy to guarantee scientific integrity, objectivity, and high academic quality. Under this process, the identities of both the authors and the independent reviewers are concealed throughout the evaluation process. Every submitted manuscript is evaluated based on its originality, technical soundness, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the fields of computer science and intelligent systems.

Step-by-Step Peer Review Workflow

All submitted manuscripts undergo a structured multi-stage evaluation process as outlined below:

1. Initial Desk Screening & Plagiarism Check

Upon submission, the Managing Editor conducts an initial desk screening to verify scope alignment, adherence to Author Guidelines, and structural completeness. Manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using Turnitin. Manuscripts exceeding a 20% similarity threshold will be returned or rejected immediately.

2. Assignment of Handling Editor

Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to an Associate or Section Editor specializing in the relevant subject area. The handling editor selects a minimum of two (2) independent expert reviewers in the domain.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review Evaluation

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript independently within a 2 to 4 week timeframe. Reviewers assess the paper based on scientific novelty, experimental methodology, mathematical/algorithmic validity, discussion depth, and relevance of literature references.

Reviewers provide one of the following official recommendations:

Accept Submission: The manuscript is ready for publication with no or minor technical polish.
Revisions Required: Minor revisions needed; no further full peer-review round required.
Resubmit for Review: Major revisions needed; the revised manuscript must undergo a second round of review.
Decline Submission: The paper lacks sufficient novelty, sound methodology, or falls outside the journal scope.

4. Editorial Decision

The Handling Editor synthesizes the reviewers' reports and recommendations to make a formal decision. The decision letter, accompanied by detailed, constructive feedback from reviewers, is communicated electronically to the corresponding author.

5. Revision & Re-Evaluation

If revisions are requested, authors must submit a revised manuscript along with a point-by-point Response to Reviewers document within the specified deadline (typically 2 to 3 weeks).

6. Final Approval & Production

Once accepted, the manuscript undergoes copyediting, layout formatting, DOI assignment, and final proofreading prior to official online publication under Open Access terms.
