1. Duties of Authors

• Originality & Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original. Plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and other forms of academic misconduct are strictly unacceptable.
• Multiple/Concurrent Submission: Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publication practice.
• Authorship & Contribution: Authorship must be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the research.
• Data Access: Authors should maintain appropriate research data and supporting materials and may be asked to provide relevant information or evidence to support the integrity of the research.

2. Duties of Editors

• Fair Play & Impartiality: Editors evaluate manuscripts based on their academic quality, relevance, originality, and contribution without discrimination.
• Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose manuscript information to unauthorized individuals.
• Editorial Decisions: Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on peer-review reports, academic quality, ethical standards, and the scope of NJBMIE.
• Conflict of Interest: Editors must disclose or manage potential conflicts of interest and should recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where appropriate.

3. Duties of Reviewers

• Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists editors in making informed decisions and helps authors improve the quality of their research.
• Promptness: Reviewers who feel unqualified or unable to complete a review within the specified timeframe should promptly notify the editor.
• Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
• Objectivity & Standards: Reviews should be conducted objectively, constructively, and with clear supporting arguments. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate.

4. Plagiarism Policy & AI-Assisted Content Statement

NJBMIE does not tolerate plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation, or other forms of academic misconduct. Submitted manuscripts may undergo similarity screening and editorial assessment before entering the peer-review process.

Key Policy Highlights:
  • Similarity Screening: Submitted manuscripts may be checked using plagiarism or similarity-detection software as part of the editorial screening process.
  • AI Tools Usage: Generative AI tools, including ChatGPT and other large language models, cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and academic content of their manuscripts. Where AI tools have been used substantially in preparing the manuscript, authors should disclose their use in an appropriate section of the manuscript.
  • Allegations of Misconduct: Suspected cases of plagiarism, citation manipulation, data fabrication, falsification, or other ethical misconduct will be investigated in accordance with applicable publication ethics procedures and relevant COPE guidance.

5. Corrections & Retractions
